Pre-Dawn Gunfight Rattles In Shopian Village, One Militant Killed

Srinagar: One Militant has been in on ongoing encounter in Hend Sitapora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District on Sunday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a joint team of Army’s 34RR and SOG Shopian launched cordon and search operation in Hind Sitpora after having credible inputs about presence of militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon the forces triggering an encounter.

A senior official told GNS that one militant has been killed in initial exchange of firing, while the the gunfight is on.
