Poonch highway closed for 3rd straight day

Poonch: The Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch national highway continued to remain closed for the third straight day on Saturday in wake of the ongoing encounter at Bhata Dhurian forest area, located along the highway.

Officials told that the highway has been closed for vehicular movement between Bhimber Gali and Jarran Wali Gali of Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district.

The highway was closed on Thursday evening after the gunfight broke out between forces and militants in Bhata Dhurian forest area in which two Army riflemen have so far been killed.

Officials said that keeping in view the safety of civilians, no civil traffic is allowed on highway between BG and JWG. (KNO)
