Policemen, Three CRPF Personnel, Three Civilians Injured In Palladium Grenade Blast
Srinagar: Ten people, including four policemen, three Central Reserve Police Force personnel and three civilians sustained splinter injuries after suspected militants tossed a grenade at the CRPF camp at Pallaidum in Lal Chowk on Sunday evening.
CRPF spokesman Sanjay Sharma told Greater Kashmir that at around 7:10 pm, militants hurled a grenade at 132 battalion stationed at Palladium in Lal Chowk.
“Three CRPF men including an ASI and a woman sustained injuries in the attack,” he said. A police source said that four policemen were also injured in the attack while as three civilians including a woman too received injuries and were shifted to SMHS hospital.
“Ten persons including four cops, three CRPF men and three civilians sustained injuries in the blast. All of them are stable,” he said.
According to the source, the injured policemen were identified as Ashiq Ahmed, Abid Ahmed , Muhammad Shafi, and Nasir Ahmed while as CRPF men were identified as ASI R Munaswami, constable Vishal and Constable Davinder of 132 battalaion.
The injured civilians were identified as Humaira wife of Sajad Ahmed Baba of Harwan, Abdul Qayoom of Mandibal Nowshera and Taliba Gulsan wife of Iftkhiar Ahmed of Dalgate, Srinagar.
He said that the area has been cordoned off and a massive search has been launched. (GK)
