Police takes cognizance of an Individual for assaulting his parents in Srinagar

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken cognizance of an individual accused of assaulting his parents and preventing them from entering their own home for the past year in Srinagar.

“Acting on a written complaint from the accused’s mother, Mst Taja Banoo, wife of Gh Ahmad Wani, a criminal case (FIR No. 77/2024) under sections 74, 126(2), and 351(2) BNS has been registered at Nowgam Police Station, and an investigation has been initiated,” the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement.

“The accused, identified as Mohd Ashraf Wani, son of Gh Ahmad Wani and a resident of S. A. Colony, Nowgam, has been brought to the police station for questioning. Further investigation into the matter is going on,” the statement said.
