Police seizes 01 Excavator & 06 Tractors involved in illegal mining in Baramulla; Arrests 07 Drivers
May 24: Cracking a whip on illegal mining of minerals at Goigam, Aboora, Kreeri & Shrai Baramulla, Police seized 01 excavator, 06 tractors, and arrested their drivers.
The Police initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg & SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO PS Tangmarg, SHO PS Kunzer & SHO PS Kreeri.
The police seized 01 Excavator, 06 Tractors & arrested 07 drivers identified as Abdul Lateef Wani son of Gh Mohd resident of Aarth Budgam, Asil Ahmad Dar son of Ab Gani resident of Chichiloora, Mohd Akbar Kawa son of Ab Rehman resident of Kawapora Shadipora, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi son of Abdul Gani resident of Chichiloora, Mohd Ashraf Bhat son of Gh Nabi resident of Hanjiwera, Shakir Ahmad Bhat son of Shabir Ahmad resident of Wailoo Kunzer & Mushtaq Ahmad son of Gh Mohammad resident of Poonch.
They were found involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals and accordingly case under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
