Police register FIR against youth for stunt biking in Shopian
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Sunday registered an FIR after a youth was found indulging in dangerous stunt biking on a public road in the Pehlipoora area of Shopian district.
Police said FIR No. 263/2025 has been registered under Sections 281 and 125 of the BNS and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The motorcycle used in the stunt has been seized, and further investigation is underway.
The accused has been identified as Sahil Farooq Sheikh, son of Farooq Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Pehlipoora, Shopian.
According to police, he was riding recklessly and performing dangerous stunts, endangering his own life and that of other commuters.
Urging the youth to follow traffic norms, police said public roads are meant for safe travel and such unlawful acts will be dealt with strictly under the provisions of law.
Parents have also been requested to guide and counsel their children on responsible driving.
Police said strict action will continue against all traffic violators in the district. — (KIMS)
