Police recovered Illicit diesel in Sopore, accused arrested
February 25: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, Police in Sopore recovered illicit diesel from village Chatoosa in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha and arrested accused person involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Dangiwacha received a specific information regarding the transportation of an illicit diesel. Accordingly, a police party of headed by SHO Dangiwacha conducted raid at specific location in village Chatoosa. During raid, police party recovered six barrels of illicit diesel approximately 750 litres from the spot. The accused person involved in the commission of crime has been identified as Babar Shams Baba son of Shams ud Din Baba resident of Jalal Abad Sopore. He has been arrested and shifted to PS where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 11/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Dangiwacha and investigation has been initiated.
