Police raided several places to crack network of Pakistan-based militants in J&K, dozens arrested

Srinagar, June 7: J&K Police has raided several places to crack the network of Pakistan-based militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
Several persons have been arrested both in Kashmir and Jammu divisions after they were found in contact with Pakistan-based militants, said a top Police official.
The development came after the Director General of Police (DGP) passed ‘unambiguous and very strong directions’ to all formations that anyone found in touch with any such entity in Pakistan or in any other country should be taken to task.
The DGP has further passed on directions that the policy of zero tolerance of any such anti-national activity must be followed in letter and spirit.
A top official told ANN News that J&K Police has rounded up number of individuals and initiated legal action against them for their involvement in militancy related activities.
During investigation, it was found that these individuals are also in contact with their Pakistan based handlers. The raids were carried at residential and commercial places.
“Some of those based in Pakistan including Sajad Gul, Ashiq Nengroo Arjumand Gulzar, Raies Ahmad Mir and Manzoor Ahmad Shah have been notified and designated as terrorists by Ministry of Home Affairs under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act,” said an official.
“These terrorist handlers who are based in Pakistan are involved in serious terror crimes and as well motivating and inciting the young gullible boys to join terror ranks to commit terror crimes,” he added.
Manzoor Ahmad Shah, an official said, has issued threats to various people in Kashmir and is collecting information about persons working for the welfare and progress of India to eliminate them.
“Many target killings and other terrorist crimes have been instigated from across using local hybrid terrorists. As on today dozens of suspects have been picked up across J&K,” a top Police Official told ANN News.
