Police-Public meeting held at Police Station Nowgam, Srinagar
Srinagar, March 19: A police public meeting was held at Police Station Nowgam, Srinagar.
The meeting was chaired by the SDPO West Sajad Bukhari-JKPS along with SHO Nowgam Inspector Shri Syed Showket.
The meeting was attended by the large number of respectable citizens of the area including members of Civil Society Committees of Kenihama, SK Bagh, Ganjipora, Syedpora and Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony Nowgam, Dangerpora, Chattergam and Suthsoo Kalan Wagora.
The main aim of the meeting was to interact with the people of the area and seek cooperation in maintaining peace and public order, and social and public issues confronting them.
Various issues including social and public grievances were raised by the participants.
However some issues worth mention include:
01. Macdamisation of link roads of Kenihama and Dangerpora.
02. Removal of encroachment of an interior road at Dangerpora.
03. Acute shortage of electricity in Dangerpora Kenihama areas.
04. Re-opening of gate on the east side of Railway Station which has been closed by railway police for unknown reasons.
The officers present on the occasion assured them that issues pertaining to police will be redressed shortly and other issues will be taken up with the concerned quarters for their early redressal.
The locals of the area hailed the gesture of police and assured cooperation in eradicating social evils.
