Police Crackdown on Terrorism: Residential House and Vehicle Attached in Baramulla
Srinagar : The Baramulla police have taken severe action against terrorism by seizing a residential house and a Swift Car in accordance with Section 25 UA (P) Act. This operation is a component of the ongoing efforts to destroy terrorist support networks and the logistical support systems that enable their operations.
The development stems from the investigation of FIR No. 104/2023 U/S 7/25 I.A Act, 120-B IPC, 13,16,18,23 UA (P) Act conducted by the Police Station Uri. The seized Swift Car, with registration number CH01AD-9588, was found to be instrumental in the transportation of illegal arms and ammunition for terrorist operations. Acting under the authority granted by Section 25 of UA (P) Act, DySP SIU Baramulla, CIO of the case, has attached the vehicle as proceeds of terrorism following approval from the competent authority.
Simultaneously, another breakthrough occurred in the investigation of case FIR No. 46/2023 U/S 307 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act, and Sections 16,18,19,20, and 38 of UA (P) Act, led by Police Station Kreeri. A residential house belonging to Farooq Ahmad Bhat, son of Late Ghulam Mohammad, located in Wanigam Payeen on land survey number 2020 min & 2021 min, was attached. This action was taken as the house was identified as a hub for harboring terrorists. In accordance with the powers vested under Section 25 of UA (P) Act, Dr. Khalid Ashraf- JKPS, DySP Ops Kreeri IO of the case, attached the residential property as proceeds of terrorism after obtaining requisite approval.
The police remain steadfast in their commitment to dismantle the intricate web of support sustaining terrorist activities, sending a strong message against those involved in such unlawful endeavors.
