Police attaches residential properties of Militant, OGW under UAPA Act in Shopian
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police attached two residential properties of a militant and an Over Ground Worker (OGW) under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 in Shopian district of South Kashmir on Thursday.
“A double-storey residential house along with 4 marlas of land under Khasra No. 14 situated at Wandina village of Mohd Shafi Dar, Father of militant Adnan Shafi Dar of Wandina and double-storey residential house along with 7 marlas of land under Khasra No. 1347/ min situated at Melhoora village of Abdul Majeed Koka, Father-in-law of militant associate Sajad Ahmad Khah of Melhoora was attached under UAPA. The attachment is linked to Case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora,” police said in a statement.
“Both the properties are valued Rs. 50 lacs. The relevant entries has been made in revenue records by the revenue authorities and notice for the sale and transfer of the attached properties has been duly served under the provisions of the UA(P) Act,” the statement said.
“The attachment was executed in the presence of a duly constituted Police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols. This action represents a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the region. It highlights the firm commitment of Shopian Police to neutralize threats to National security and maintain peace and order,” the statement added.
