Police arrests drug peddler in Sopore, contraband substance recovered
May 12: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Panzla headed by SHO PS Panzla under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad Dr. Hilal Ahmad Hilal-JKPS at a checkpoint at Rohama intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 50 grams of charas like substance were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Ghulam Nabi Malla son of Ghulam Ahmad Malla resident of Rohama. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 17/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Panzla & further investigation has been initiated.
General Public is requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per the law.
