Police arrests drug peddler in Budgam, contraband substance seized
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a drug peddler in Soibugh area of Budgam district in Central Kashmir and seized contraband substance from his possession.
“Police Post Soibugh received information through reliable sources that one person namely Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, son of Ab Kareem Bhat of Nadigam has concealed contraband substance in his residential house. Upon the receipt of the information a special team was constituted under the supervision of Dysp Hqr Budgam led by IC Police Post Soibugh who along with independent witnesses raided the residential house of the accused. During the search, 14 Kgs of Charas in powder form were recovered from the said house which was seized and the accused was arrested on the spot,” police said in a statement.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 464/2024 U/s 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Budgam. Further investigation of the case was set into motion. — (KIMS)
