Stumbled Near CRPF Man: Boy; Police To View CCTV Footage
Srinagar, July 22: A boy was arrested by police from Srinagar’s Jahangir Chowk amid contradictory claims by the arrestee and CRPF.
The paramilitary forces said that boy made an abortive bid to snatch service rifle from one of its personnel, the boy, a resident of Chattabal here said he stumbled near the CRPF man due to which he touched him.
A police officer told GNS that Police station Shergari arrested the boy as CRPF personnel deployed at Jahangir Chowk claimed that the boy tried to snatch weapon of one its personnel.
The boy, he said, is saying that he stumbled near the CRPF man and touched him inadvertently with no such intention.
“Investigations have been started and among others CCTV footage would be checked to ascertain the facts,” he added. (GNS)
