Police arrests 03 persons and seizes 03 vehicles in Budgam
September 02: Acting tough against the elements involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police in Budgam have arrested 03 persons and seized 03 vehicles involved in the commission of crime.
A police party of PP Humhama at a checkpoint established at Laloo Sheshgari intercepted three tippers loaded with illegally extracted soil. The vehicles bearing registration numbers JK01M-2211, JK05B-0747 and JK04B-7700 have been seized and their drivers identified as Basharat Ali Ganai son of Mohammad Baqir Ganai resident of Bodina Budgam, Javaid Ahmad Ganai son of Ghulam Mohammad Ganai resident of Bodina Budgam and Sarfaraz Akhter Chopan son of Zahoor Ahmad Chopan resident of Mahawar Budgam were arrested. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
