Jammu, April 24, 2022: Pakistan occupied Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (PoJKLF) paid rich tributes to the last Dogra ruler of erstwhile J&K state Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on his death anniversary.

The program was organised by Convenor PoJKLF Pritam Sharma alongwith Co-Convenors Vijay Sharma & Vikas Sharma.

Remembering Maharaja Hari Singh, BJP J&K general secretary Vibodh Gupta said that Maharaja’s contributions to the freedom movement and endeavours to establish justice, peace and prosperity in the state would always serve as an inspiration for the generations to come.

Highlighting the Maharaja’s contributions Vibodh said, “He made primary education compulsory in the state, introduced laws prohibiting child marriage, and opened places of worship to the low castes,” he said.

Vibodh further said that under the strong leadership of Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi no enemy could dare to enter our territory, not an inch of land has been lost and is also committed to retrieving every inch of Indian land from Pakistan.

Pt. Ashok Khajuria (Convenor, BJP Sharnarthi cell) also paid homage to Maharaja Hari Singh, who had acceded Jammu & Kashmir with the Union of India on 26th October, 1947 by signing the Instrument of Accession. He was a great reformer, visionary, a patriotic and a revolutionary ruler. He empowered village Panchayats, which then were used to resolve community conflicts in villages.

Khajuria said that the partition of the Indian subcontinent was the greatest tragedy in the history of mankind and added that while India suffered the tragedy of partition, Jammu and Kashmir suffered the second tragedy of losing out a part of the erstwhile state to illegal occupation of Pakistan (PoJK).

Pt. Ashok Khajuria said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi resolved to retrieve PoJK from the illegal occupation of Pakistan. He said it was always believed and said that Article 370 would never be abrogated but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this was made possible and in the same way the resolve to retrieve PoJK would also be accomplished.

Speaking on the occasion former MLC Vikram Randhawa also remembered the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh. He also expressed anguish over Sheikh Abdullah and claimed that Nehru-Sheikh Jugalbandi betrayed Maharaja to claim power. “The aspirations of the people were ignored and parts of J&K under Pakistan’s illegal and illegitimate occupation (PoJK) were surrendered to Pakistan by these leaders,” added Randhawa.
