Srinagar, June 29: Fed up with repeated betrayal by elected governments, people at large are happy with imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Most people in J&K believe that elected governments in the state have always sought votes on issues which they never did later after assuming office of government.
The survey conducted by prominent NGO Lal Ded reveals that youth in Kashmir are “most happy” after imposition of Governor’s rule. It further reveals that most of youth, as per their past experience, feel that under Governor’s rule corruption level goes down, authorities work tirelessly, law and order problems situation have decreased and selection list of aspirants are issued without any political interference and corruption.
“Youth in Kashmir feel that all the good things happen in Governor’s rule and all elected government has never tried even a bit to do all what is in public interest. In fact, youth feel that elected governments in J&K have time and again deceived its voters and politicized every issue to save or gain vote bank,” reveals the survey.
Similarly, Aashiq Husain of Anantnag said that Governor’s rule imposition is also a best opportunity for government to India to take all those initiatives which state government have opposed.
“J&K governments have never been sincere with Delhi as well as with the people of J&K. Their priority has always been to remain in power, exploit situation, rehabilitate their close party workers, relatives and to earn from government projects through commissions by favoring particular firms,” he said.
Mushtaq Ahmad said that Union Home Ministry must establish its cell in J&K through which Kashmiri youth can send their grievances to government of India. “We have experienced the deceit, exploitation by local state governments. The truth is that Delhi has always been sincere in upliftment of local youth here. However, state governments have always opposed those all initiatives, fearing they would lose their worth which otherwise is not truth,” he said.
Ahmad added that there was no opposition, protests or resentment over collapse of government which is clear message to political parties that people trust more on “government by Governor than the elected one.”
Professor Altaf Ahmad who teaches Political Science while commenting on the collapse of government, said that people in Kashmir are happy with this development as Governor has done what actually elected governments are supposed to do.
“The Governor has issued orders for expedition of process for regularization of daily rated workers, conducting of DPCs, biometric attendance of employees and all other relevant and much needed public demands,” the professor said.
He added that setting up a unit in Kashmir by Union Home Ministry will be a landmark decision and development as Kashmiri youth who have no faith on local mainstream political parties will have easy access to Delhi through this local cell. “This unit in Kashmir can help to bring youth closer to mainstream, directly communicate their grievances to Delhi and share their suggestions, ideas and opinions with Delhi,” he added.
