People in Kashmir appeal IG to take cognizance of objectionable post on social media against CDS Rawat

Srinagar, Dec 12: A Facebook user in Kashmir has hurt sentiments of common people by posting objectionable content against CDS Bipin Rawat, with people demanding Police to take immediate action under law.
The photograph of CDS Rawat was posted by the Facebook user namely Mir Raashid along with objectionable content and comment about the tragedy that led to killing of CDS Rawat and other officers in Tamil Naidu.
“We demand immediate and strict action against this person. He is habitual of abusing our country and patriotic people on social media. Authorities must wake up against these terrorist sympathizers,” said a group of scholars at Kashmir University.

One of the Professors at Central Kashmir University said that such posts are objectionable and intolerable. “Police must take the cognizance of these cyber terrorists and book them under strigent laws. We will not tolerate anything against CDS Rawat who has served the nation at the highest level,” the Professor said.
“We appeal to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar to take cognizance and direct the Cyber Police to book the accused,” said a group of local youth in Srinagar.
ANN News received scores of calls from the general public, appealing to the Police to take strict action under law against the accused.

Most of the people said that they analyzed the social media account of this Facebook user namely Mir Raashid and found him habitual of posting anti-national posts and comments. “He is also using his comments to threaten the patriotic people in Kashmir,” they added.
This Facebook user has used the pictures which make it apparent that the user is from Kashmir. However, ANN News could not confirm immediately whether the user has posted these own pictures or of somebody else.
