PDP names Bashir Mir as candidate for Ganderbal assembly seat
Bashir Mir to challenge Omar Abdullah in Ganderbal, a nail-biting contest ahead
Gandarbal, Aug 28 : The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has designated Bashir Ahmad Mir as its candidate from the Ganderbal assembly constituency as part of a strategic move in view of the forthcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.
The name, as per the news agency—Kashmir Bulletin (KB), came out on Wednesday when the party apparently seemed engrossed in naming formidable candidates for important constituencies.
Bashir Ahmad Mir, heavyweight in the PDP, will contest against Omar Abdullah of the National Conference, and this promises to be one of the most keenly watched electoral contests.
Similarly, a frontline leader, Bashir Mir has been at the thick of the politics of Jammu and Kashmir and his contest is expected to hog the limelight in the coming elections.—(KB)
