Pakistan’s Edhi Foundation Offers To Help India Amid Civid-19 Surge

Islamabad: Pakistan’s charity foundation, Edhi Foundation, has offered help to India on Friday following the surge in COVID-19 cases in the country.

Faisal Edhi, the Managing Trustee of the foundation in a letter to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, has expressed concern and sympathy with India, where the daily positive cases have surged to 3.32lac in a single day. He has offered help in the form of a fleet of 50 ambulances along with services to assist the country in addressing the “current humanitarian crisis”.

“Our organization understands the gravity of the situation, and we wish to lend you our full support, without any inconvenience to you, which is why we will arrange all the necessary supplies that our team needs to assist the people of India,” the letter read.

For providing the service, the foundation requested PM Modi for permission to enter the country as well as for the necessary guidance from the local administration and the police department.

“We are willing and ready to deploy our team into any critical area of concern at your direction without hesitation,” read the letter.

However, the government of India has not responded to the Foundation’s offer yet.

The healthcare sector in the country has been badly hit due to the deadlier second wave of the pandemic. India reported nearly 3.32 lack of new positive cases and 2256 deaths yesterday.
