Pakistan Attacks Army Posts Along LoC In Poonch, Naib Sarpanch Injured

Poonch, July 20: A Naib Sarpanch was injured as armies of Pakistani and India in Saturday trade shelling along the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police officer told GNS that the Pakistani army opened unprovoked fire on Army posts at Mankote, Krishana Ghati and Balakote today at around 9:00 am.

“At about 0900 hours, Pak initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation with firing of small arms and shelling with mortars along LoC in Mendhar Sector,” he said.

Army soldiers manning the Loac retaliated strongly, he said.

The cross border shelling continued for a brief time, he said.

Some Pakistani shells landed near residential areas resulting in injuries to Naib Sarpanch Zaffar Ullah Khan of Baloni in Mankote tehasil of Poonch district

Zaffar suffered injuries in his right hand and was immediately shifted to nearby hospital, he said. (GNS)
