Over 8000 posts filled within record time in J&K, brings cheer on faces of youth in J&K

Srinagar, June 5: The J&K Government has recruited over 8000 youngsters to different posts in various departments on fast track based, bringing cheer on faces of youngsters.
The best part of the recruitment was that selections were made on merit, transparent and fair manner, said a group of youth in Srinagar.
The J&K Services Selection Board (JKSSB) had advertised 8575 posts in June 2020 which witnessed the participation of lakhs of educated unemployed youth.
“The all advertised posts were filled under rules within less stipulated time and results were declared recently,” said an official.
He added that 8575 Class-IV posts were advertised by the SSB under the Accelerated Recruitment Programme launched by the LG Administration.
“The object of the Accelerated Recruitment Programme is to fill the available vacancies in various Government Departments in a time bound and transparent manner,” he said.
The new rules for recruitment to Class IV posts envisage selection only on the basis of a common written test for posts belonging to multiple cadres and departments. Interview for Class IV posts has been completely dispensed with.
“We are happy and thankful to government for envisaging new rules which are youth friendly, transparent, fair; leading to time bound declaration of results,” said Rameez Ahmad, a local youth of Anantnag.
He added that additional weightages for domiciles of districts and divisions have been envisaged new rules in addition to extra points for economically marginalised groups like widows, divorcees, casual, daily rated workers, families having no one as government employee.
“These are great youth-friendly measures which we really appreciate. It is historic and welcome step,” said Bushra of Baramulla.
She added that SSB has maintained highest standards of transparency and fairness in all the recently held written examinations besides ensuring time bound results amid all the odds and difficulties caused by the outbreak of COVID19 pandemic since the beginning of 2020.
“The Board reiterates its commitment to complete the selection for rest of the posts referred under Accelerated Recruitment Drive as and when situation improves,” said one of the senior officials of SSB.
People at large have expressed satisfaction over the Accelerated Recruitment Drive and thanked LG Administration for taking youth-friendly measures in J&K.
