Outgoing accorded farewell at Mendhar

MENDHAR Members of the civil society and Mendhar Police’ of Mendhar today accorded warm farewell to outgoing Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar (IPS) and Addl SP Layqat Choudhary (JKPS)

Apart from members of Civil Society , media fraternity, senior police officers including SDPO Mendhar Z A Jaffri and SHO Mendhar Manzoor Kohli were present on the occasion.

Addressing the programme, the journalists said it’s rare that media organises farewell for officers but in case of Dr Vinod Kumar relations between media and him were very strong which forced them to organize the farewell. They said that Dr Vinod strengthened relations between media and police department as also filled the gap which had been created in the past.

Later, addressing the gathering outgoing SSP poonch Dr Vinod Kumar l said that all the media persons of mendhar helped him a lot in policing and in streamlining the system.

He added that media has played an important role in exposing wrongdoing and highlighting people’s grievances in mendhar

A similar farewell party was organised by senior Nc leader & ex MLC Choudhary Rahim Dad

A large number of senior citizens and elders of Jughal and Mankote took part in the programme, who said the tenure of SSP Dr Vinod Kumar in Mendhar will be written in golden words “as he is man of principles and was not less than a nightmare for trouble creators”.

They highly appreciated his role in anti-drug drive during which several notorious drug peddlers were put behind bars.
