J&K Govt orders probe against president MC Khansahib for abusing official powers
Srinagar, Aug 24 : The Jammu & Kashmir Government has ordered a probe into the conduct of president municipal committee Khansahib for abusing official powers.
The Housing & Urban Development Department has appointed Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat, vice-chairman, J&K Lake Conservation & Management Authority, to a detailed enquiry into the conduct of president municipal committee Khansahib, Irfan Ahmad for abusing official powers.
“As a principle of natural justice, a reasonable opportunity of being heard shall be afforded to the president,” reads an order issued by H&UDD, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The inquiry officer has been directed to submit report to the Government within 15 days.
In the month of July, Government had ordered an inquiry against incumbent deputy mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Parvez Qadri over allegations of corruption based on a report of anti-corruption bureau.
In September last year, Jammu & Kashmir Government had removed president Municipal Committee Awantipora after an inquiry confirmed allegations against him—(KNO)
