One more tested positive in Pulwama, DM appealed people to adhere to restriction orders for impeding the community spread of COVID-19

Pulwama 1 Apr 2020: One more person from Pulwama was today tested positive of COVID-19 , taking the total number of positive cases to 02 in the District.

The person, resident of Chandgam has come into contact with the already confirmed positive person of Khaigam and was put under quarantine at the District Hospital Pulwama.

Immediately after the second case was reported positive in the district, District Magistrate Pulwama today stressed to have aggressive imposition of restrictions in the areas which have been declared red zones and buffer zones in the district.

District Magistrate reiterated that particular areas have become more susceptible as far as further transmission of the COVID-19 virus is concerned. It is necessary to stymie the transmission of the disease in the area and it becomes imperative to adhere to the orders issued under section 144 of CrPC.

He appealed people to cooperate with the administration and ensure strict adherence to the restrictions as violation would constitute criminal offence and attract strict action under Section 188 of IPC.

The authorities have reiterated that concealment of travel history or circumvention of screening would coerce the authorities to invoke relevant sections of IPC and stringent action shall be intitiated under section 269 IPC( unlawfully or negligently doing something which is likely to spread infection of any dangerous disease to life) , section 270 IPC ( malignant act likely to spread infection of dangerous disease to life), section 271 IPC (knowingly disobeying any quarantine rule) and section 188 IPC ( for disobeying any Govt order).
