Omar Abdullah Questions BJP’s ‘4 Extra Votes’ in Rajya Sabha Election, Seeks Accountability
Srinagar, Oct 24 (ANN News):
National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah has raised serious questions over the outcome of the recent Rajya Sabha elections, alleging irregularities in vote counting that seemingly benefited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In a post on social media, Omar Abdullah asserted that all NC votes remained intact across the four elections, as confirmed by the party’s election agent. He claimed there was no cross-voting from any NC MLA, and questioned how the BJP secured four additional votes.
“Where did the four extra votes of the BJP come from? Who were the MLAs who deliberately invalidated their votes by marking a wrong preference?” Omar asked. He also challenged those responsible to “own up to selling their souls” and betraying the party’s trust.
The statement has intensified the political storm following the Rajya Sabha poll results, with both NC and BJP leaders trading sharp accusations.
