Omar Abdullah leads road show in Lolab Kupwara
Srinagar, May 09 : J&K National Conference Vice President and party candidate for Baramulla parliamentary constituency Omar Abdullah Thursday said people of Jammu and Kashmir are facing the most difficult problems and difficulties.
While addressing people at different places during the road show in Lolab today, Omar said, “Our new generation is troubled in every way. On the one hand, the scourge of unemployment and on the other hand, the apathy of the rulers have turned them against the wall. If someone has been booked or if someone’s distant relative has been a militant, he does not get CID verification in any case, as a result he can neither get a passport nor get a job. I was of the opinion that the son or relative of a militant is not a militant, if someone’s relative made a mistake by picking up a gun, it doesn’t mean we need to punish their relatives.”
The road show was organized by in-charge Lolab Qaiser Jamsheed Lone. The roadshow commenced from Chandigam, Dursa, Takipora, Deor Lolab, Lalpora Lolab, Crosan Lolab, Siwan Makam, Chak Varno, Varno Lolab, Afan Lolab, Chopora, Gangbug and passed through several areas.
Party treasurer Shammi Oberoi, senior leader Chaudhry Muhammad Ramzan, provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani and DDC Nasir Lone, party functionaries also addressed public gatherings. During the road show, people and party workers warmly welcomed Omar Abdullah and accompanied him in rallies and processions.
Criticizing BJP and its local minions, Omar Abdullah said, “These people are frightened by the participation of youth, elders, mothers and sisters in our meetings, rallies and programs and they have adopted different tactics. They are trying to ban our programmes. They dont want us to meet the people but now is the time to thwart their plans.”
He said, “In the past I used to come here to ask for votes for my colleagues, today I have come to ask for votes for myself, this is the first time I am asking you for votes for me. This time I am in the field from North Kashmir and appeal to you to give me an opportunity to work for you and this area.”(KNS)
