Omar Abdullah alleges J&K Govt. of sabotaging “simultaneous elections
Says targeting Muslims, other minorities age-old method of BJP
Srinagar, Mar 18 (KNS): National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah Monday alleged J&K government for sabotaging simultaneous conduct of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
“It in very sad that government of Jammu and Kashmir sabotaged simultaneous conduct of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections here. They don’t want people to have their own elected government,” Omar Abdullah as said while talking to reporters in south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
He however expressed hope that Supreme Court had already directed Central Government to hold Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by or before September 30, 2024.
The former chief minister of Jammu & Kashmir said that National Conference will announce the candidates for Lok Sabha elections at an “appropriate time”. “NC will announce the list of candidates at an appropriate time. Today from southern district of Kulgam our party has started election campaign,” he said.
Hitting out at BJP, the NC leader said that “It is the age-old method of saffron party to target minorities during elections. CAA is aimed for the same to target not only Muslims but also other minorities living in the country”. (KNS)
