Oil crop seed distributed by agriculture department among farmers in Shopian

Shopian: The administration kick started the drive and distributed oil crop seeds among farmers in Darbagh village in Zainapora tehsil of Shopian district.
Chief Agricultural Officer Shopian, Satish Sharma while talking to ANN News said, “we urge farmers to grow oil crop in their land that will benefit them.”
“Our mission is to grow and cultivate oil crop on 50% of paddy field land.” adding “60 thousand hectares of land will be brought under the cultivation of oil across Kashmir,” he added.
The Director Agriculture Kashmir Choudhary Iqbal and Principal Secretary Navin Choudhary, he said has given directions to make 50% of the land available for oil crop cultivation.
“We started the drive from this village today were we are going to convert 20 hectares of land into oil crop cultivation. Total of 90 hectares of land have been alloted in this zone for this crop cultivation,” he daid.
He also urged farmers not to keep their land free and grow and cultivate some crop that will benefit them.
