Notorious criminal arrested in Jammu
JAMMU (KIMS) — A notorious criminal with 12 FIRs registered against him was arrested in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Pankaj Singh alias Panku Raja, a resident of Kotli Mian Fateh, Miran Sahib, Jammu, is a history-sheeter of Police Station Miran Sahib. He had recently been released after completing detention under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
“Acting on specific inputs, a police team from Police Station Bishnah, led by Inspector Sh. Sushil Choudhary, SHO Bishnah, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP HQ Jammu, conducted a raid and arrested the accused. During the search, 25 grams of heroin-like substance and a 9-mm pistol were recovered from his possession,” police said in a statement.
“This operation reinforces our commitment to curbing crime and drug-related activities in the region,” the statement said.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Police Station Bishnah under relevant sections of law.
“Further investigation is underway to trace the network behind the recovered narcotics and illegal weapon,” the statement added. — (KIMS)
