Nocturnal Gunfight breaks out in Srinagar
Srinagar, Oct 09: An encounter has broke out between militants and security forces at Methan area of Srinagar late on Saturday night.
As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Kashmir zone police tweeted” Second #Encounter has started at Methan area of #Srinagar. Police & CRPF are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice”
Official said that earlier a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter.
Earlier Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said that the militant was killed in Srinagar shootout and identification as local resident of Shopian district and was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba—(KNO)
