No Trace Of 2 PDD Employees Who Drowned In River Jehlum In Uri, Searches On

Baramulla: No trace was found of the two Power Department Development employees who drowned in 500 feet long Jehlum Nallah in Daderkote area of Uri North Kashmir Baramulla district on May 20.

An official said that the administration along with J&K Police, SDRF and locals on Wednesday started rescue operation in the area. He said an Alto 800 Car in which the two were travelling was recovered during operation whereas bodies are yet to be traced.

On May 20, an Alto 800 car fell into 500 meters long Jehlum at Daderkote area of Uri North Kashmir Baramulla district.

“Two persons were traveling in the car which was on way from Uroosa towards Sultandaki. When they reached near Shudwani area of Dardkote, the driver lost control on the vehicle and it skidded off from the road and rolled down into deep gorge,” an official said.

He said locals reached the spot and started rescue operation. “Two employees of Power Development Department are still missing,” he said. The missing employees were identified as Sayeed Ahmed from Sultandhaki and Maroof Khan from Kalgai Uri. (KNO)
