No Shab-e-Qadr prayers at Jaima Masjid Srinagar

Srinagar, May 27: No Shab-e-Qadr prayers will be held at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar on Thursday.

The development came in the backdrop of recent incident when some youth had raised objectionable slogans during Friday congregational prayers.

“Authorities have disallowed the nightlong prayers of Shab-e-Qadr at Jamia Masjid. We were conveyed this by the officials today evening,” Haji Muhammad Altaf, General Secretary Anjuman Auqaf Jamia Masjid Srinagar confirmed to ANN News.

Earlier, the Auqaf had announced that Isha prayers will be offered on Shab-e-Qadr at 10:30 pm.

Thirteen youths were arrested after anti-nationalslogans were raised recently inside the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
