No raids at Prem sweet shop, no pig fat tins seized: Police
Owner demands action against rumour mongers
Jammu, Police on Thursday said that no raids were carried out at the Prem sweet shop in Kud, Samrulli and Jammu and the reports about tins of pig fat being seized from there are baseless.
Additional Superintendent of Police Udhampur Mohammad Feisel Qureshi said: “No raids were carried out by police anywhere, neither have we seized any tins of pig fat from the Prem sweet shop in Kud, Samrulli and Jammu.”
Some reports claimed that 40 tons of pig fat were seized from Prem sweet shop which was circulated on the social media.
Proprietor of the Prem Sweet Shop Prithivi Raj Khajuria said that in 2014 also some miscreants had used social media to hit his business and had spread false rumours. “This is our family business which was established by my late grandfather Pandit Loknath Khajuria. Besides Kud, we have established our branches in Samrulli, Udhampur and Jammu but a few people are hell bent upon ruining my business. During all these years our quality has been praised by one and all and we have worked very hard to establish this business,” he added.
Khajuria said that in 2014 he had filed complaint at Police Station Kud, cyber cell of the police at Udhampur and Jammu but no action was taken.
He demanded that police should take the cognizance of the matter and take action against the culprits who are defaming his establishment.
He appealed to people not to pay heed towards rumours and be assured that his company manufactures “best quality sweets”.
The ASP Udhampur said that owner of the Prem Sweets should approach the police and file a complaint so that the culprits could be traced and dealt as per law. (KNS)
