Nine families evacuated to safer places after landslide in Rajouri
Jammu: At least nine families were evacuated and two Kacha houses got partially damaged on Tuesday after a massive landslide occurred in Bagyalkote Sawari village of Kotranka Tehsil in Rajouri district.
Locals said that a huge chunk of dry grass as well as Agriculture land has also suffered damage in the massive landslide.
They told that in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, they heard a sound, which horrified everyone in the village and people, came out of their houses and saw a massive landslide taking place.
The locals added that a huge chunk of land, believed to be around fifty kanals, got damaged while two kacha houses also suffered damage.
They said that the landslide has occurred due to the ill-planned road construction work by the road executing agency in the area.
“We have evacuated nine families and all have been shifted to safer place,” officials told KNO, adding that no loss of life has taken place in this incident. (KNO)
