NC Spokesperson Clarifies Arrest of Mehraj Malik, Refutes PDP Claims

In a post on X (Formerly twitter ) NC Spokesperson Tahir Sayeed said
“A PDP legislator is misleading the public by claiming that the Hon’ble Speaker of the Assembly granted permission for the arrest of the MLA from Doda Mehraj Malik . The factual position is that the said arrest order was issued by the Deputy Commissioner Doda as is clearly mentioned in the document. The Assembly Secretariat was merely informed of this action and, for the information of other Hon’ble Members, published the Deputy Commissioner Doda’s communication in the Assembly Bulletin.

Hon’ble Chief Minister @OmarAbdullah has already strongly condemned this arrest, terming it an attack on democracy and an attempt by unelected to harass elected representatives. It is expected that the concerned PDP legislator will understand the seriousness of the matter rather than resorting to political misrepresentation.”
