Music Concert ‘Baisakh Sangeet Madhumaas’ Celebrates Baisakhi at IMFA University of Jammu

The Vocal Department of IMFA University of Jammu hosted a mesmerizing music concert titled ‘Baisakh Sangeet Madhumaas’ to commemorate the pious occasion of Baisakhi. The event, held with grandeur, brought together distinguished personalities and talented artists to celebrate the festival that marks religious harmony and cultural unity.

 

The occasion was graced by Shri Brijmohan, a renowned music director and writer, as the chief guest. S. Amarjeet Jhandu, an eminent violinist, served as the guest of honour, while S. Jung S. Berman, an artist, social activist, and journalist, and Sunny Dua, an esteemed journalist and writer, attended as special guests.

 

 

Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal of IMFA, inaugurated the program with an inspiring address. He highlighted the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, emphasizing the importance of the Khalsa Panth, which was established on Baisakhi. He commended the efforts of the students and faculty members for organizing such a soulful event.

The concert featured a variety of performances that resonated with the theme of Baisakhi:

 

 

 

Nirmal Kumar, Anand Kumar, and Priyanshu Gupta delivered a soulful Gurbani Shabad with tabla accompaniment by S. Navraj Singh.

 

 

Assistant Professor S. Karanjeet Singh captivated the audience with a Khayal performance in Raag Patdeep, followed by another Gurbani Shabad and a Bhajan, accompanied by Amit Anand on tabla and Nirmal Kumar on harmonium.

, Rakesh Kumar, Rhythm Yusuf, and Rahul Mangotra performed a lively Dogri folk song.

 

Senior faculty members Sh. Suraj Singh and Dr. Deepali Wattal presented heartfelt Ghazals and Gurbani Shabad Kirtans.

 

The audience enthusiastically applauded the event, acknowledging the efforts of all performers and organizers. Faculty members including Dr. Sumit Madan, Sh. Rakesh Kumar, Sh. Rohit Verma, Sh. Raj Kumar Sharma, Dr. Roshi Shaminotra, Ms. Bindu Sharma, Sh. Rajesh Kumar, Sh. Vijay Kumar, Dr. Sujata Rajput, Sh. Chanderdhari Kesar, Sh. Amit Anand, and Sh. Ajay Sharma were actively present, alongside numerous students.

 

Dr. Deepali Wattal extended heartfelt thanks to the distinguished guests, Principal IMFA, faculty members, and students for their contributions to the event’s success. The entire program was expertly designed, coordinated, and anchored by Dr. Jasmeet Kaur, earning admiration from all attendees.
