Municipal Councillor from Sopore resigns from NC
Says decision taken in view of recent attack, other personal reasons
Srinagar: Akhtar Rasool Gilkar, a Municipal Councillor from north Kashmir’s Sopore, who managed to secure the post on National Conference (NC) ticket in Municipal elections, has resigned from the party.
Gilkar told that in view of the recent attack and for some personal reasons, he has left the party and from now onwards he is not affiliated with any party.
“I have quit NC and am not affiliated with any political party from now onwards. I will continue to work for the people with dedication,” he said.
He said that he has taken this decision in view of the recent attack and some personal reasons as he didn’t get any kind of help from administration or police.
Gilkar had emerged victorious from Ward No. 15 Muslimpeer area of Sopore on NC ticket. (KNO)
