MRCFC Organises ‘Rice Field Day’ At Khudwani, Kulgam
Kulgam: Mountain Research Centre for Field Crops (MRCFC) Khudwani of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-K) on Friday organised a Kisan Mela-cum-Rice Field Day at Khudwani, in order to provide awareness to the farmers regarding the cultivation of various kinds of wheat varieties, being researched and developed at this centre.
The experts shared their experience and expertise regarding the latest techniques of different crop farming with the farmers
The Day was observed to provide awareness to the farmers regarding the cultivation of various kinds of rice varieties, researched and developed at the centre in which a large number of farmers from various districts participated.
On the occasion, VC SKUAST-K Prof Nazir Ahmad presented a detailed presentation about the progress of the research centre and new initiatives of the institute to improve the productivity of crops.
Mela was organized with an aim to sensitize the farmers about new technology and high yielding variety of seeds being introduced in the agriculture sector to increase productivity and to provide better marketing facilities to the farmers.
Member of Parliament Nazir Ahmad Laway, legislators Advocate Abdul Majeed Larmi, and Abdul Rahim Rather were also present on the occasion.
Farmers, on the occasion, interacted with the scientists and discussed various field issues.
Various scientists also spoke on the occasion and shared their views and experience regarding the cultivation of the new variety of crops.
