MP Masoodi raises issue of regularization of daily wagers, CIC workers in LS
Reiterates his demand for discussion on J&K situation
New Delhi, Dec 01 : National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament from Anantnag, Hasnain Masoodi Wednesday raised the issues of regularization of daily wagers, contractual and Asha workers in the Lok Sabha.
While drawing the attention of the government towards these issues, Masoodi, as per a statement said that the daily wagers, CIC workers and contractual employees in various departments in Jammu and Kashmir have been waiting for their regularization for decades.
Calling for comprehensive policy for regularization of daily wagers and casual labourers employed in various departments, Masoodi said these daily wagers have been working relentlessly in various departments for the last decade making it incumbent upon the government to redress their long pending grievances.
Masoodi, who has been very vocal about the issues concerning daily wagers, CIC workers and contractual employees in J&K has time and again demanded the implementation of Minimum Wages Act in Jammu and Kashmir in order to put an early end to the wanton discrimination faced by these hapless Workers, who despite working at par with permanent government employees, don’t get the regular benefits enjoyed by them.
Masoodi also drew attention of the government towards the pay anomaly suffered by ASHA workers, who have been on the forefront in India’s battle against Covid-19, malnutrition, and various immunization programmes.
He also asked LS Speaker to concede to the NC Party MPs request on having a short discussion on Kashmir situation. He also reiterated his demand for calling motion on Hyderpora, Rambagh and Lawaypora shootouts—(KNO)
