Mother of Advisor Farooq Khan donates 5 lakh to relief fund to fight COVID-19
Srinagar, Mar 30: Mother of Farooq Khan, advisor to Lt. Governor Jammu and Kashmir, has donated Rs. 5 lakh to an organization in Jammu to fight COVID-19.
According to Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Khalida Begum mother of Farooq Khan contributed Rs. 5 lakh to Sewa Bharti Jammu, Ved Mandir, which is provide relief to the needy to fight COVID-19.
In a letter along with a Cheque of Rs. 5 Lakh to the organization, Khalida said that she was planning to go to Haj this year on her own expenses but she has now decided against it as the country is going through a difficult time due to COVID-19 outbreak.
In the letter she has said that she will donate the expenses, which was to be utilized for her Haj expenses, to the organization so that the amount can be best utilized to help the needy in this hour.
“I Khalida Begum M/O Farooq Khan, was planning to go for Haj this year on my own expenses but as the country is going through a difficult time due to COVID-19 outbreak I have decided against performing Haj this year, ” reads the letter, as per KNO.
The letter reads “Further, I have come to know that your esteemed organisation is working tirelessly for extending much needed help to the needy persons and decided to contribute/donate an amount of Rs. 5,00,000/- (the amount required for performing Haj this year) to your organisation so that the amount can be best utilized for taking care of those who are in urgent need of help”.
