‘Cardiac arrest’: Mother dies of shock on hearing son’s death in Bandipora

Srinagar, Jan 15 : A 50-year-old man died after suffering a massive cardiac attack in Konan area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Minutes later, his 80-year-old mother died of shock when she came to know about his death.

Locals of the area told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that one Mohammad Shaban (50) son of Ghulam Qadir Bhat, a resident of Konan Bandipora suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening. Shaban was immediately shifted to District Hospital Bandipora, where doctors declared him dead.

On hearing the news about the death of her lone son, the mother identified as Bakhti Begum (80) fell unconscious and was subsequently shifted to hospital, where doctor declared her dead and the suspected cause is believed to be a heart attack.

A pall of gloom descended on the Konan village as the news about the mother and son duo reached the village.

Bodies of both mother and son were sent to their home for last rites. (KDC)
