More Leaders To Leave Apni Party, Big Blow In View Of Assembly Polls

ANN NEWS DESK

Srinagar, Aug 21: Four senior leaders of the Altaf Bukhari-led Apni Party are poised to resign and join rival parties other parties, sources told ANN News.

Sources close to the developments added that  Abdul Rahim Rather, and two other prominent figures are likely to tender their resignations from the party’s basic membership shortly.

This follows the recent departures of Zafar Manhas and Usmaan Majeed, who have already left the Apni Party.

The departure of senior leaders has sparked speculation of a deepening crisis within the Apni Party, especially with the crucial Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly polls with notification for first phase already out.

Political analysts suggest that the trend of leaders and their supporters leaving the Apni Party could mark the beginning of a mass resignation wave.

“This is a devastating blow to the Apni Party, which otherwise was earlier trying to portray the joining of these leaders as a sign of strength since 2019,” said a political analyst.

“The situation raises serious questions about the party’s stability and its ability to maintain unity as it heads into the electoral battle,” he added.
