Missing BUMS student from Awantipora joins militant ranks
Pulwama: A Bachelor in Unani Medicine and Surgery student (BUMS) from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has picked up arms and posted an audio message on social media to announce joining militant ranks on Friday.
Aadil Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Charsoo village in southern Pulwama district who was the last semester student of BUMS at Tibiya College in Sumbal had gone missing couple of days back, sources told KDC.
The family was looking for Aadil everywhere after he went missing.
On Friday evening a purportedly audio of Aadil Rashid surfaced on social media in which he is saying with the message that” not to search him as he has chosen the way of Allah and is safe”, on Aug 21, 2020.
A police official told KDC that they are ascertaining the authenticity of the audio.
A fact sheet from the Home Ministry as per NDTV shows that in the first seven months of this year, 90 locals have joined various militant groups. Of them, 45 joined Hizbul Mujahideen, 20 Lashkar-e-Taiba, 14 Jaish-e Mohammad, seven Al Badr, two Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind and one joined ISJK, a Militant group inspired by the Islamic State.
