Minor Injured After Being Hit By A Military Vehicle In Qazigund, Protests Erupted
Qazigund, June 20: A 4-year-old boy was injured by a military vehicle in the Wuzur area of Qazigund in the Anantnag district of southern Kashmir on Thursday morning. Following the incident, massive protests erupted in the area against the Army.
Reports that reached the KNO identified the wounded as Muzamil Ahmad Wagay son of Ghulam Hassan Wagay, a resident of Wuzur Qazigun.
Eyewitnesses told KNO that the vehicle, part of a convoy, had hit a minor on the Srinagr-Jammu National Highway and had fled.
“However, angry youth managed to stop three other traffic and demanded the arrest of the erring driver,” an eyewitness told the KNO. The youth gathered on the highway and held a protest that stopped traffic on the busy highway.
Police sources confirmed the incident with the KNO and said the matter was resolved in consultation with the public. (KNO)
