Militants Ambush Army Vehicle Near Line of Control in Baramulla, Civilian killed, four soldiers injured
Srinagar October 24: Heavily armed militants ambushed an army vehicle in the Bota Pathri area near the Line of Control (LOC) in Baramulla district today, leaving four army personnel injured and one civilian porter Killed.
According to officials, the militants targeted vehicles belonging to the 18 Rashtriya Rifles (18RR) in a stand-alone attack near Nagin Dhok, Bota Pathri. The incident occurred in close proximity to the LOC, intensifying security concerns in the already volatile region.
“A massive operation has been launched in the area to track down the militants involved in the ambush,” an official said, confirming that security forces are combing the rugged terrain near the LOC.
The injured personnel have been shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The area has been cordoned off, and reinforcements have been deployed to prevent the militants from escaping into dense forest cover.
This attack underscores the persistent threat posed by militants operating in areas close to the LOC, where they frequently target military convoys and patrols. Authorities are maintaining a high alert as the security forces continue their search operation.
