Militant associate arrested in Budgam: Police
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A police spokesman in a statement said that based on a credible input, a checkpoint was established at Khansahib.
“Officers at the checkpoint intercepted an individual Saqib Ahmad Lone resident of Wager Khansahib and incriminating material was recovered from his possession,” said the spokesman.
“As per police records he is involved in assisting the active militants of proscribed militant outfit JeM operating in the areas of Khansahib. He is also involved in providing logistic support, shelter to JeM militants operating in the area,” he said.
“A case under relevant section of law has been registered in Police Station Khansahib and further investigation in the matter is in progress,” he added.
“Incriminating materials recovered from his possession have been taken into records to probe his complicity in crimes,” said police spokesman in a statement.
