Militant associate arrested in Bandipora

Bandipora, Apr 20 : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a militant associate and recovered a chinese pistol and a grenade from his scooty in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
In a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police said that Bandipora police along with 14RR & 3rd Bn CRPF at a checkpoint established at Papchan intercepted a suspicious person who was travelling on a white colour Scooty towards Bandipora bearing registration No.JK 15-5762 ,who on seeing joint naka party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended.
“He has been identified as Umer Ajaz @Umer Shalla son of Ajaz Ahmad Mir of Naberpora Bandipora, “the police said, adding that during his personal search, one Chinese pistol and grenade was recovered from his scooty.
Affiliation and involvement of the arrested militant associate is being ascertained, reads the statement—(KNO)
