MeT forecasts dry weather in J-K till Feb 26
SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness generally dry weather conditions till February 26, with a possibility of light snowfall at isolated higher reaches on February 17.
According to the Meteorological Department, light snow is possible at isolated higher reaches on February 17.
The department said that from February 18 to February 24, the weather is expected to remain generally dry across Jammu and Kashmir.
It further said that the weather is likely to remain partly to generally cloudy from February 25 to February 26.
On February 27 and 28, the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy, with light snow likely at isolated higher reaches towards the evening or night of February 28, the department added.
The MeT also said that from March 1 to March 2, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy, with light snow likely at isolated higher reaches.
Meanwhile, the summer capital Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 0.1°C, Qazigund 0.2°C, Kupwara minus 1.4°C, Kokernag 2.3°C, Pahalgam minus 3.8°C and Gulmarg minus 1.6°C on Monday.
The winter capital Jammu recorded 11.5°C, Katra 11.0°C, Batote 8.5°C, Banihal 10.6°C and Bhaderwah 2.4°C.
In Ladakh, Leh recorded minus 8.8°C and Kargil minus 8.6°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
