Mehbooba Mufti says PDP brought major institutions to South Kashmir, slams NC

Srinagar, Sep 9 : PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday said that under the government led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, South Kashmir witnessed major institutional developments, including the Islamic University of Science and Technology, a university campus, a medical college, and AIIMS, all within a short span of time.

She said that in contrast, despite being in power for decades, the National Conference (NC) could not establish a single comparable project in the region. Mehbooba added that NC’s criticism of AIIMS’s location reflects “indifference and apathy” toward South Kashmir.

The PDP chief further alleged that while the NC often chose “flood-prone sites to benefit their own people,” her party selected locations “based on public interest and not political favoritism.”
